Randy Gooch, public health director in Jessamine County for the last four years, is the new deputy commissioner of the state
Department for Public Health. Gooch says one of his main tasks will be to improve relations between the department and county and district health departments.
"While in Jessamine County Gooch implemented a needle exchange program, supported the development of a trails network, helped to secure funding for a bike and pedestrian path, and modernized the health department’s website," the
Lexington Herald-Leader reports.
