Key portions of Kentucky's new abortion law are on hold, at least until the U.S. Supreme Court rules on a Mississippi law that would ban abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy, one part of the new Kentucky law.
U.S. District Judge Rebecca Grady Jennings had previously suspended enforcement of the law, The Associated Press notes: "The judge’s order Thursday extended the suspension of the measure’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks . . . and the requirement that women be examined by a doctor before receiving abortion pills. It also applies to new restrictions and reporting requirements that the Kentucky clinics said they couldn’t immediately comply with." Both Kentucky abortion clinics are in Louisville.
